Categories: Belltown, Featured Properties, Mosler Lofts, New Construction

A future owner at the Mosler Lofts just started a new blog for those who have already purchased and those who are interested in the project.

Seth, the blog’s founder, will be keeping everyone up to date on his experiences but has stressed the importance of allowing others to share their thoughts as well.  For those not set to live in the building, comments will need to be approved!

If you haven’t been able to get down to the Mosler Lofts Presentation Center, King 5 will be interviewing Developer, Mark Schuster either tonight or tomorrow evening at 5pm and 6pm.  They will be discussing the Green features of the building as well as the amenities and interior finishes, so if you have purchased or are just curious- don’t miss it!

What Is “Green” Living?

Categories: Belltown, Blogroll, Featured Properties, Lofts, Mosler Lofts, New Construction

“Green” living has proved to be a popular choice for today’s informed homebuyers but I have noticed that there are still a lot of people who don’t understand what exactly the terminology means.

LEED
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a green building rating system from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the nation’s foremost coalition of building industry leaders.  LEED is the standard for creating high performance buildings. (USGBC definition)

Built Green

Built Green is an environmentally-friendly, non-profit, residential building program of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties, developed in partnership with King County, Snohomish County and other agencies in Washington State.

Energy Star
Energy Star is a government-backed program helping businesses and individuals protect the environment through superior efficiency which reduces greenhouse gases.  It is a part of the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA definition).

Mosler Lofts is pushing “Green” living as an additional selling point while they seek to become the first LEED Silver Certified condominium community in the region- which is not an easy accomplishment.  They also pride themselves on being sustainable, renewable, eco-friendly and water efficient while promoting renewable energy, natural ventilation and light and the usage of green materials and resources throughout the project.

There are only a few floor plans left with square footages ranging from 1,117 – 1,827, starting at $655k.  Occupancy is set for late summer/early fall.
